Cynthia Burden

M. Ed., LPCA  (Telehealth & Leitchfield Office)

Cynthia provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey. She has experience working with adolescents, adults, and veterans, as well as individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, life transitions, grief and loss, stress management, self-esteem concerns, and relationship challenges. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. Cynthia takes an eclectic, person-centered approach to counseling, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused techniques, radical acceptance, and other trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. She believes healing is not one-size-fits-all and works collaboratively with clients to build on strengths, develop practical coping skills, and support meaningful, lasting change. Clients can expect an authentic, compassionate therapeutic relationship that fosters growth, resilience, and self-discovery.

Cynthia has a professional interest in sex therapy and is committed to expanding her clinical expertise in this specialty. She plans to pursue advanced training and certification in sex therapy to further enhance her ability to provide evidence-based, compassionate care and support clients navigating intimacy, sexuality, and relationship concerns.
