Chris has a Bachelors in Educational Ministries and Psychology as well as a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling and Life Span Development and years of experience in working in trauma, including working at one of the Challenge Academies and a Rape Crises and Child Advocacy Center. He is passionate about working with people to overcome and heal from the traumas they have experienced. Due to his extensive history in providing trauma focused therapy, Chris works to provide an atmosphere that feels calming and safe for the patient. When you walk into Chris’s office, you will immediately know his interests and hobbies due to his practice of genuineness, which leads him to decorate his office “as an extension of myself.” He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and is at the time of writing this is near completion of certification. In practice, Chris patiently works with patients to feel confident in their ability to heal from trauma and letting them determine the pace of the sessions as they transition from victim to survivor and from survivor to thriving.
